The mission of ShopBlackCT is to challenge structural racism and transform the legacy of economic and social inequity in the U.S. by providing a platform to drive business to and awareness of local Black-owned businesses.
Who owns ShopBlackCT?
ShopBlackCT is a volunteer initiative and is not owned by one entity, as it is not a business or company. One of the founding members of ShopBlackCT purchased the ShopBlackCT.com domain name and ShopBlackCT continues to be funded through the generosity of ShopBlackCT team members.
Is ShopBlackCT a business or company?
No. ShopBlackCT.com is a not-for-profit website run by a group of volunteers. It is not a non-profit organization, business or entity.
Does ShopBlackCT.com generate revenue?
No. No money is made from the site itself. Team members do not profit anything off the site nor is the site used for any financial or personal gain. ShopBlackCT is 100% about giving, lifting up others and expecting nothing in return.

The ShopBlackCT team is led by Black business owners and professionals specializing in data, marketing, partnerships, photography, social media and writing. Black business owners also provide ongoing feedback through surveys to guide the support offered by ShopBlackCT and engage in an exclusive ShopBlackCT Facebook group for Black business owners. Additionally, Black business owners publish blogs featuring their areas of expertise through the ShopBlackCT.com blog.
