This milestone production marks ActUp Theater’s 10-year anniversary, making this an extra special celebration of storytelling, culture, and community. “Our 10-year anniversary is about more than just theater—it’s about a decade of inspiring, uplifting, and celebrating our community through the arts,” said Faithlyn Johnson, Founder and Executive Director of ActUp Theater. “Once On This Island is the perfect story to share at this moment, with its powerful themes of love, resilience, and the strength of the human spirit.” A breathtaking Caribbean-inspired musical, Once On This Island tells the story of Ti Moune, a fearless peasant girl who embarks on a journey of love and self-discovery despite the obstacles in her way. Featuring a vibrant score, mesmerizing choreography, and an unforgettable message, this production promises to captivate audiences of all ages.
